Betty Jo Snyder Phillips, 69, of Spartanburg, SC, died Friday, March 4, 2016, at her home. Born August 22, 1946, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Harry Lee Snyder, Sr. and Viola Marie Medford Snyder. Mrs. Phillips was a member of El Bethel United Methodist Church, a member and past SC State president of the Veterans of Foreign War Ladies Auxiliary, as well as a volunteer for the veteran's hospital. Survivors include her husband, Robert Thomas Phillips of the home; daughters, Tina Rhinehart (Brian) of Spartanburg, SC and Donna Phillips of Inman, SC; granddaughter, Julia Gibson of Spartanburg, SC; grandsons, Drew Metcalf (Lindsay) of Roebuck, SC and Justin Gibson of Spartanburg, SC; great-granddaughters, Reagan Metcalf and Jamey Drew Metcalf of Roebuck, SC; brother, Jimmy Snyder of Roebuck, SC; and many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by three sisters, Carolyn Justice, Patricia Keller, and Charlene Lavender; and two brothers, Johnny Snyder and Harry Lee Snyder, Jr. A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 PM Sunday, March 6, 2016, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by Pastor James Dell Justice. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Veterans of Foreign War Ladies Auxiliary Post 9539, 325 Carolina Drive Extension, Roebuck, SC 29376. The family is at the home.
