Betty Jean McKinnish Phillips, 77, of Mayo, died Tuesday, August 16, 2011, after a long battle with cancer at her home. Born September 7, 1933, in Glendale, she was the daughter of the late Jeremiah P. and Edna Lee Cochran McKinnish. Betty was a member of Glendale Baptist Church for 65 years and we know when she met the Lord, he told her "Well done, good and faithful servant!" (Matt 25:21). Survivors include her daughter, Brenda Walden (Jerry) of Spartanburg; sons, Buddy Burrell (Billie) of Landrum, Barry Burrell (Kathy) of Cowpens, and Benji Burrell (Ann) of Mayo; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Bob McKinnish of Charleston and Fred McKinnish of Glendale. Visitation will be 1:30-2:45 PM Friday, August 19, 2011, at Glendale Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM, in the church, conducted by the Rev. Daniel Blackwell. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Glendale Baptist Church, PO Box 268, Glendale, SC 29346. The family is at the home.
