Betty Hudson

Betty Jean Ayers Hudson, 81, of Spartanburg, SC, died Friday, October 28, 2016, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital. Born August 28, 1935, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Erie Preston Ayers, Sr. and Bessie Scott Ayers and widow of Edmund Lee Hudson. Mrs. Hudson was a member of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg and retired staff assistant with the Governmental Affairs Department of Duke Power. Survivors include her daughter, Susan Hudson Webster of Simpsonville, SC; son, David Wayne Hudson of Tifton, GA; grandchildren, Jason Webster, Shannon Webster, and Harrison Hudson; four nephews, Steve Cathcart, Chris Ayers, Mark Ayers, and William Ayers. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by sisters, Margaret Huntsinger, Barbara Belch, and Mina Cathcart; and brother, Erie P. Ayers, Jr. A private graveside service will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Bob Neely.
