Betty Gwinn

Betty Ann Gowan Gwinn, 79, of Spartanburg, died Thursday, August 11, 2011, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born October 16, 1931, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Eulis and Rowena Owensby Gowan, and wife of the late John Wesley Gwinn. Betty was a member of Morningside Baptist Church and a volunteer at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Survivors include her son, Steven (Donna) Gwinn of Spartanburg; her daughter, Joy (Vince) McCall of Spartanburg; grandchildren, Ashley and Brandon Gwinn, Peter, Ana, and Owen McCall; sisters, Jean Mabry, Shirley Williams, Jewel McGraw, and Sandra Carroll. She was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Sawyer; and a brother, Kenneth Gowan. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Saturday, August 13, 2011, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 PM Sunday, August 14, 2011, at Morningside Baptist Church, by the Rev. Dr. Kirk H. Neely. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family is at the home of Steven Gwinn, 512 Cambridge Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29301.
