Betty Haw Sim Lee Gung, 72, of Spartanburg, died Tuesday, August 23, 2011, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital, she was born January 14, 1939, in Hong Kong, China. Betty, along with her late husband, Bing Gung, were the owners and operators of The Hong Kong Restaurant for over 28 years. Survivors include her son, Henry G. Gung (Dana) of Spartanburg; her daughter, Stella G. Smith (Mark) of Spartanburg; grandchildren, Taylor Gung, Andrew Gung, Dillon Smith, and Annie Smith; a brother, Shick Ngon Lee of Charlotte, NC; and sisters, Lee Jung of Charlotte, NC, and Kwai Sim Soohoo of Boston, MA. Visitation will be 2:30-3:45 PM Sunday, August 28, 2011, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 PM, in the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Steve Wise.
