Betty Parker Gordon, 99, of Spartanburg, died Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born November 4, 1914, in Chester, SC, the daughter of the late Wister Glenn and Emma Allen Parker. She was the widow of Dan P. Gordon. She received her education in the Chester County schools. She was a graduate of Farah's Beauty Academy in Rock Hill, SC. Being a cosmetologist, she worked alongside her husband for many years until his death in 1976. Betty and Dan were former members of the National Hairdressers and Cosmetologist Associations. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg and was a member of the Pastors Sunday School Class. She was also a former member of the Woodland Gardner's and Woodland Heights Neighborhood Association. Survivors include her daughter Carol G. Bailey and her husband, Jim of Inman, SC; son, Dan M. Gordon of the home; grandchildren, Scott (Terri) Bailey of Spartanburg, SC and Lisa B. (Rick) Lee of Greenville, SC; great-grandchildren, Andrew Bailey, Sarajane Bailey, and Jessica Todd, all of Spartanburg, SC, Michael Lee of Charleston, SC, and Katie Lee of Columbia, SC; great-great-grandson, Tucker Todd of Spartanburg, SC; and several nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family and was predeceased by a sister, Lucy P. McAbee; and two brothers, Lex Fewell Parker and Thomas Glenn Parker. Visitation will be at 1:30-2:45 PM Monday, June 30, 2014 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM at the Chapel, conducted by Rev. Sal Barone and the Rev. Britt Dillard. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Complex, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Rescue Fund, 230 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302; or Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
