Betty Gaddy

Betty Jo Tumblin Gaddy, 75, of Spartanburg, SC, died Monday, February 3, 2014. Born July 17, 1938, in Laurens County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Franklin and Lou Mae Thompson Tumblin, and widow of Donald Franklin Gaddy Sr. Mrs. Gaddy was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Friendship Sunday School Class, and Women's Ministry. Surviving are her sons, Donald Franklin Gaddy Jr. (Brenda) of Greenville, SC, and Joseph Michael Gaddy and his fiancé Rosemary Bradley of Roebuck, SC; five grandchildren, Heather G. Beville, Donald "Trey" Gaddy III, Jessica G. Waddell, Joseph M. Gaddy Jr., and Jamie G. Hughes; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Billy Franklin Tumblin. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Thursday, February 6, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Rufus Chaneyworth. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Memorials may be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church, 350 North Blackstock Road, Spartanburg, SC 29301. The family is at the home of her son, Michael Gaddy.
