Betty Jean Collins Burke, 84, of Boiling Springs, SC, died Monday, April 28, 2014, at her home. Born November 24, 1929, in Inman, SC, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Mack and Amelia Lee Collins. Mrs. Burke was a member of Northbrook Baptist Church, an avid traveler, and a NASCAR fan. She retired from the Beacon Drive-In after 22 years of service. Surviving is her beloved husband of 47 years, Ronald L. Burke; son, Johnny Lawson of Roebuck, SC; daughter, Sherry Strickland (Scott) of Roebuck, SC; four grandchildren, Holly Bagwell (Jay), Jonathan Lawson (Jessica), Haley Strickland, and Tyler Strickland; five great-grandchildren, Jacey Bagwell, Lawson Bagwell, Amelia Bagwell, Addyson Lawson, and Avery Lawson; brother, Sam Collins of Inman, SC; and sister, Lucy Brooks of Spartanburg, SC. She was predeceased by two sisters and six brothers. Visitation will be 10:30-11:30 AM Thursday, May 1, 2014, at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel, 4161 Hwy 9 N, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. Funeral services will follow at 11:45 AM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Benny Green. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
