Betty Breeden

Betty Burrell Breeden, 91, of Spartanburg, SC, died Friday, June 17, 2022, at Pacifica Senior Living Skylyn. Born February 7, 1931, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Herman Burrell and Marie Stone Burrell Tumblin.

Betty was a former employee of Olney Paint Company. She received her associate degree from Spartanburg Technical College. A longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church, she served on the Hospitality Committee for many years and was a member of the Paul Morris Sunday School Class.

Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Nelson Elsberry Breeden of the home, their daughters, Laura Ann Breeden of the home and Lisa Karen Baird (Bill) of Nikiski, AK, and her siblings, Gert Weathers (Marvin) and Butch Burrell (Brenda), all of Spartanburg, SC. She was predeceased by her brothers, Herman Burrell and Bill Burrell, and her sister, Dot Garvin.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 am Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 626 Norwood Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302, conducted by The Rev. Michelle Dellinger Cockcroft with The Rev. Peter W. Fauerbach and The Rev. Sandra Breeden Greene, their nephew and niece, assisting. Visitation will follow the service in the church Fellowship Hall. Entombment will be at a later date in the Church Columbarium.
