Betty Bishop

Betty Jean Bishop, 87, of Spartanburg, SC, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2015. Born December 3, 1927, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late John B. Bishop and Bernice Chapman Bishop. Betty was a lifelong member of Liberty United Methodist Church and retired as an office assistant in the family business. Surviving are her nephews, Ken Eaton (Mary) and Bill Eaton (Patty); nieces, Nancy Bishop Rosen (Michael), Kathy Ratliff (Tom), Mary Hamm (Gary), and Trish Giest (Bill); and several great-nieces and nephews; and great-great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Perry Bishop and John Bishop; sisters, Doris Bishop Sawyer, Iris Blakney, and Mary Nell Eaton; nephew, Rick Bishop; and niece, Barbara Bishop. A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 PM Saturday, August 8, 2015, at Liberty United Methodist Church. Private burial was held in Liberty United Methodist Church Cemetery.
