Betty Bailey

Betty Carolyn Williams Bailey, 77, of Chesnee, SC, died Monday, July 22, 2013, at Spartanburg Regional Restorative Care. Born March 5, 1936, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Boyce Lindsey and Pauline Tate Williams, and wife of the late Hughston M. Bailey. Mrs. Bailey was a member of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg since she was 13 years old. She loved the Lord, her family, and always helping others, putting them before herself. She was a private caregiver, former employee of C&S Bank, and Smith-Outz Drug Store. Survivors include her sons, Patrick F. Bailey (Angeline) of Chesnee, SC, and Monty Bailey (Tracie) of Boiling Springs, SC; daughter-in-law, Stephanie W. Bailey of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Christian Bailey, Kayla Bailey, Taylor Bailey, and Ryan S. Bailey; sisters, Mary Ellen Miller and Alice O'Sullivan, both of Boiling Springs, SC; special cousin, Judy Guzzo of Auburn, NY; and several nieces and nephews, including special niece, Lisa Hayes. In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by a son, Timothy S. Bailey; and sister, Nancy W. Smith. Visitation will be 12:00 noon - 1:30 PM Thursday, July 25, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Sal Barone and Mr. Bob Neely. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. The family is at the home of her son, Patrick Bailey.
