Betsy Davis

Betsy Powell Davis, 70, of 245 Ridings Road, died Friday, July 31, 2009, at her home. Born May 28, 1939, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Barnett and Vida Absher and was first married to the late Charles H. Davis. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Alfred Powell; a daughter, Sherry Gurley and husband Robert "Bink" of Campobello; two sons, Chuck Davis and wife Selena of Inman, and Rick Davis of Campobello; four grandchildren; and three brothers, Arthur Absher, Junior Absher, and Woodrow Absher, all of Spartanburg. She was predeceased by five siblings. Visitation will be 7:00-9:00 p.m. Saturday, August 1, 2009, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 2, 2009, at Fairview Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Keith Davis, the Rev. Ty Childers, and the Rev. Charlie Glover.
