Bessie H. Fowler, 94, died Sunday, November 28, 2010, at Magnolia Place. Born January 13, 1916, in Elizabethtown, TN, she was the daughter of Curtis Palmer and Cleo Hawkins Holland and widow of John Callie Fowler. She was retired from Spartan Mills after 15 years of service; a former member of the Eastern Star, Whitney Lodge; and a member of Gravely Memorial United Methodist Church. Survivors include a son, Tommy Fowler, of Bloomfield, IN; two daughters, Louise Mitchell of Pacolet and Edna Bell of Boiling Springs; a brother, George Holland, of Alco, TN; a sister, Ruth Evans of Charlotte, NC; twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, November 29, 2010, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2010, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Andrew Carrigan. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Mobile Meals Service, PO Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304. The family is at their respective homes.
