Bess Caldwell

Bess M. Caldwell, 93, wife of the late James B. Caldwell, Jr. of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, March 21, 2017. Born in Greenville, SC, Bess was the daughter of the late John E. and Bessie Peden Maroney. She was a graduate of Winthrop College, a retired kindergarten teacher, and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Spartanburg. Mrs. Caldwell was predeceased by her son, James B. Caldwell, III. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth P. Caldwell of Atlanta, GA. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, April 21, 2017 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. Dr. Kirk H. Neely.
