Benjamin Driver

Benjamin Daniel Driver, 85, died Saturday, August 14, 2010, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born April 17, 1925, in Lake City, FL, he was a son of the late Benjamin Daniel Driver and Cora Belle Williams Driver Weaver. He was a CPA in Florida and also had worked with Spartanburg County government, and was a business manager with the Thornwell Home for Children in Clinton, SC. He was a graduate of the University of Florida, served in the U.S. Army, and was a member of the Optimist Club in Florida and Second Presbyterian Church in Spartanburg. Survivors are his wife of 54 years, Roberta Petree Driver; two daughters, Lynn Driver Cronin and husband Matt, and Amanda Driver Ranson and husband Don, all of Greenville, SC; a son, Robert Daniel Driver and wife Emily of Tallahassee, FL; two granddaughters, Erica Driver and Lucy Ranson; three grandsons, Alex Driver, Sean Cronin, and Ben Ranson; a sister, Fran Driver Phillips and husband Rufus of Moultrie, GA; a brother, George Edward Driver of Clearwater, FL; and all of his wonderful nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters, Gladys Masek, Patsy Driver, and Delano Fenn; and three brothers, B. J. Driver, Larry Driver, and Conrad Driver. Visitation will be 10:00-10:45 a.m. Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel with a memorial service following at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Dr. William R. Stepp. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
