Benjamin Dover

Benjamin "Ben" Everett Dover, 91, of Spartanburg, SC, died Thursday, March 19, 2015, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born October 8, 1923, in Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late James Richard and Lillian Splawn Dover. A veteran of the U. S. Air Force and Navy Reserve, Mr. Dover was retired from Kohler Corporation and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. Survivors include his beloved wife of 57 years, Elizabeth Tennyson Dover; daughter, Melody Dover Lloyd (Dan) of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Alex Lloyd (Elizabeth) and Benjamin Lloyd, all of Spartanburg, SC; brother, Paul Dover of Shelby, NC; and sisters, Laylous High and Christine Green, both of Spartanburg, SC. He was predeceased by his brothers, Charles Dover and Eugene Dover; and sister, Viola Brewer. Visitation will be 1:30-2:15 PM Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Eastside Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2:30 PM, at the church, conducted by the Rev. Mike Royal. Burial, with military rites by the U. S. Air Force Honors Team, will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
