Ben Alverson

Ben Edwin Alverson, 70, of Spartanburg, SC, husband of Linda S. Alverson, died Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Born November 30, 1950 in Spartanburg, SC, Ben was the son of the late Benjamin V. Alverson and Kathryn Y. Alverson of Chesnee, SC. He was a member of Morningside Baptist Church and retired from Earnhardt Electric, Roebuck, SC. Ben will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and Papa Ben.

In addition to his wife, Linda, he is survived by two daughters, Jessica Alverson of Chicago, IL and Brooks Spencer (Matthew) of Rock Hill, SC; one son, B. Cole Alverson (Kimberly) of Spartanburg, SC; and six grandchildren, Miller, Graham, Pippa and Charlotte Spencer; and Anna Kate and Hampton Alverson.

Visitation will be held 9:30-10:30 AM Friday, June 4, 2021 at Morningside Baptist Church Welcome Center, with funeral services following in the Sanctuary at 11:00 AM conducted by The Rev. Dr. Steven R. Owensby and The Rev. Jack Dodds. Burial will be in Springhill Memorial Gardens, 1011 South Alabama Street, Chesnee, SC 29323.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Morningside Baptist Church, 897 South Pine St., Spartanburg, SC 29302 or to Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Dr., Spartanburg, SC 29303.
