Beatrice Rowsey

Beatrice "Bea" Herring Rowsey, 93, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at Magnolia Manor-Inman. Mrs. Rowsey was born October 24, 1920, in Spartanburg, SC, a daughter of the late Oren L. Herring and Beatrice Reid Herring. She was a member of Trinity Methodist Church and served in the U. S. Army in the South Pacific Theater in World War II. Survivors include a grandson, Scott Phillips of Aiken, SC; three great-grandchildren, Joshua Phillips of Spartanburg, SC, Derek Phillips of Columbia, SC, and Jordan Phillips of Aiken, SC; niece, Virginia Saunders of Walterboro, SC; and nephew, Oren Herring III of Mt. Pleasant, SC. She was predeceased by a daughter, Susan Rowsey Phillips; and brother, Oren L. Herring Jr. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 8, 2014, in West Oakwood Cemetery, Oakwood Avenue, Spartanburg, SC 29302, by the Rev. A. Mickey Fisher.
