Beatrice Queen

Beatrice "Sue" Gertrude Starnes Queen, 79, died Monday, February 15, 2016, at her home. Born November 28, 1936 in Greeneville, TN, she was the daughter of the late Melvin Earl and Bonnie Edith Tilson Starnes. Mrs. Queen loved to bake cakes. She was a salesperson for Avon, a member of the Eastern Star Mary Montgomery Lodge #231 of Spartanburg, and a member of Cowpens First Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, T. L. Queen; sons, David Queen (Ann) of Maryville, TN, Theodore "Ted" Queen (Angie Ledford) of Clyde, NC, and William "Bill" Lee Queen (Libby) of Boiling Springs, SC; and grandchildren, Natalie Smith (Adam Gossett) of Tryon, NC, Jason Queen of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Justin Queen of Maryville, TN; three great-grandchildren; and special niece Charm Harden (Charlie). Visitation will be 11:30 AM-12:45 PM Thursday, February 18, 2016, at Cowpens First Baptist Church, 108 W. Church St., Cowpens, SC 29330. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM, at the church, conducted by the Rev. Bill Westafer. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Special thanks to neighbors, Mildred and Raymond Sellers for their dedicated and compassionate friendship. Appreciation is extended to special friend, Chris Arrowood.
