Barbara Wallace Tabbot, 84, of Spartanburg, died Sunday, January 27, 2013, at Skylyn Place. Born May 24, 1928, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late James Y. and Mary Crews Wallace and wife, for 65 years to her loving husband, Milton L. Tabbot. Mrs. Tabbot was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the Juanita Waring Circle, and John Nicholson Sunday School Class. She was a graduate of Spartanburg High School and retired from J. M. Smith Corporation (formerly Smith Wholesale Drug Company) where she worked for 52 years. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Tabbot is survived by her sons, Milton L. Tabbot Jr. of Brooklyn, NY; James C. "Jimmy" Tabbot and wife Liz of Denver, CO; and William "Bill" W. Tabbot and wife Vicky of Spartanburg, SC; two granddaughters, Morgan and Caitlin; three grandsons, Matthew, Jake, and Bill Jr.; sisters, Sarah W. Kendrick of Concord, NC, Carolyn W. Kreuzer of Spartanburg, SC, and Martha W. Nelson and husband Joe of Clinton, SC. She was predeceased by one brother, James Y. Wallace; and six sisters, Elizabeth Ritchie, Mary Macomson, Alma McRae, Frances Metz, Edna Martin, and Marjorie Poteat. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Thursday, January 31, 2013, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, by the Rev. Dr. A. Stephen Holler. Visitation will follow at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 626 Norwood Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302. The family will be at the home of a sister, 649 Poplar Street, Spartanburg, SC.
