Barbara Lynn Smith, a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, left this world peacefully on December 22, 2024, at the age of 63. Born on October 20, 1961, in Spartanburg, SC, she was a beacon of kindness and love who touched the lives of all who knew her.

Barbara dedicated over three decades of her life as an Accountant with Elliott & Painter, LLP, where her colleagues appreciated her tremendous work ethic and warmth. She graduated with an Associate's Degree in Accounting, showcasing her commitment to learning and growth.

To know Barbara was to know her love for family. She was married to the love of her life, Charles "Charlie" Smith, for 37 wonderful years. Their bond was a testament to true partnership—full of laughter, support, and cherished memories. Barbara took immense joy in her role as a loving mother and grandmother, and her heart swelled with pride for her daughter-in-law Tessa Cromer, grandsons Tanner Wilson and Trevor Wilson, and great-grandson Lenix Wilson. Spending time with her family, whether it was creating lasting memories or simply enjoying everyday moments, was what brought her the greatest happiness.

Barbara was a sweet soul who embraced life with a smile. Her zest for living was infectious, and she had a flair for making every gathering feel special. She loved music and traveling.

Barbara's family tree included her cherished brothers Larry Wilson and Anne Wilson, Leonard (Junior) Wilson and his wife Lisa, as well as her beloved sisters Brenda Scruggs and her husband Samuel, Janet Willis and her husband Sammy, and Elenore Anderson and her husband Jack. The bonds extended far, including her dear in-laws Herb and Ann Smith from Texas.

She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, each carrying a part of her spirit—Ashley Arroyo, Heather Wilson, Kisa Wilson, Tiffany Scruggs, Valla Brossman, Bobbie Williams, and Vanessa Taylor, along with nephews Aaron Wilson, Ronnie Wilson, and Shannon Dukes. Her great nieces and nephews will always remember their "Aunt Barbara," who filled their lives with joy and inspiration.

Barbara will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends for her gentle spirit, caring heart, and unwavering dedication to those she held dear.
