Barbara Rivers

Barbara Miller Rivers, 85, of Thomson, GA died Monday, January 4, 2021 at Upstate Community Hospice House Landrum. Born June 9, 1935 in Walhalla, SC she was the daughter of the late Edward and Corrine Smith Miller. Mrs. Rivers was a former secretary at D. R. Hill Middle School, Converse College, and for the Superintendent of Spartanburg School District 3. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Evans, GA. Mrs. Rivers was graceful, stubborn, strong hearted and was totally devoted to her family and will be greatly missed. Survivors include her husband, Edwin Dalton Rivers; sons, Stephen Rivers (Juli) of Spartanburg, SC and Eric Rivers (Melissa) of Greenville, SC; grandchildren, Benjamin Rivers, Caroline Rivers, Alexandra Rivers and Erica Rivers all of Spartanburg, SC, Lauren Rivers and Lindsey Rivers both of Greenville, SC and sister, Linda Garren (Bobby) of Tellico Plains, TN. A service will be held at a later date in Georgia. No flowers please.
