Barbara Parks

Barbara C. Parks, 89, of Spartanburg, SC died Saturday, May 22, 2021 at her home. Born August 15, 1931 in Lawrence, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Everette Carl and Thomasina McColl Cookson and was married to the late Richard Oliver Parks for almost 60 years.

Barbara was a devoted nurse and caregiver. She was a member of Skylyn United Methodist Church. A strong believer in the Christian Word, she loved her Lord and family. Barbara loved to shop, play bingo and was an avid reader.

Survivors include her daughter, Karen Ficklin (Bill), granddaughters, Barbara Gossett (Tim) of Boiling Springs, SC and Stacey Wright (Lewis) of Duncan, SC, great-grandsons, Dennis Gossett, Ryan Gossett, and great-granddaughter, Kaleigh Suddeth. She was also predeceased by a son, Dennis Parks.

Private services will be held.
