Barbara Taylor Mason, 76, of 212 Scenic Circle, died Sunday, August 29, 2010 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born August 20, 1934 in Cherokee Falls, SC, she was the daughter of the late Horace Lee and Mary Parker Taylor and the wife of the late Jessie Clyde Mason. A graduate of Boiling Springs High School, she was formerly employed with the S. C. Highway Department and was a member of Grace Baptist Church where she was a church hostess and a member of the Golden Circle Sunday School Class. Mrs. Mason was an avid dancer, enjoying both shagging and square dancing. Survivors include a daughter, Kay Richards and husband Bruce of Mauldin; a son, Joel Mason of Boiling Springs; two grandsons, Jason Richards of Simpsonville and Preston Richards of Atlanta, GA; a great-grandson, Taylor Richards of Callahan, FL; a brother, James Franklin Taylor and wife Mary of Spartanburg; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at Grace Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Henry Johnson, the Rev. Dr. James B. Crocker, the Rev. Edwin H. Bolton and Chaplain Clegg Taylor. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Honorary Escort will be the Golden Circle Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church, 821 Whitlock Street, Spartanburg, SC 29301.
