Barbara Kirby

Barbara Sue Kloskey Kirby, 77, of Roebuck, SC, died Sunday, December 4, 2022 at Upstate Community Hospice Home. Born November 8, 1945 in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Eugene A. and Lucille Stephens Kloskey.

Barbara was retired from R.R. Donnelley & Sons Co. after 25 years of service. She was a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church where she taught the Nursery Sunday School Class and was the Leader of the children Acolytes.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Lewis Carroll Kirby of the home; their daughters, Sheila Kirby Gentry (Mike) of Inman, SC and Sharon Kirby of the home; grandsons, Cooper Gentry and Kirby Gentry; and her brother, Rick Kloskey (Cheryl) of Pacolet, SC.

Visitation will be 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. at the chapel, conducted by Mr. Christopher Allen. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church, 105 McKay Ave., Spartanburg, SC 29302 or to Agape Hospice, 123 Dillon Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
