Barbara Humphries

Barbara Roddy Humphries, 76, of Spartanburg, died Friday, May 7, 2010, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital. Born January 28, 1934, in Greer, SC, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Robert Roddy and Leila Gowan Roddy Pack and the wife of the late Thurman Hoover Humphries. She was retired from Beaumont Mills and was a member of Beaumont Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Stephen "Steve" Robert Humphries and wife Gail B. of Spartanburg; five grandchildren, Steven R. Humphries of Spartanburg, Stephanie H. Mullinix of Rock Hill, Amanda F. Elder of Boiling Springs, Dustin P. Elder of Charleston, and Cassidy E. Greer of Boiling Springs; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Peggy R. McIntyre and Edith R. Stepp, both of Spartanburg. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday, May 8, 2010, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 9, 2010, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel conducted by the Rev. John Cox, the Rev. Rupert Guest, and the Rev. Mike McGee. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beaumont Baptist Church, "Fulfilling Our Dream", 945 Beaumont Avenue Ext., Spartanburg, SC 29303.
