Barbara Brantley Collins, 50, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born November 10, 1964, in Clearwater, FL, she was the daughter of Joyce DeLong Brantley Jones of Forest City, NC, and the late Zachry Gaines Brantley. Barbara was a graduate of Spartanburg High School and Clemson University. She spent much of her career as a manufacturing engineer at Kusters Corporation in Spartanburg. She was an active member of Cherokee Springs United Methodist Church serving on several boards and committees and also sang in the choir. Barbara leaves a void in the lives of many friends in far flung places. She was a native of Clearwater, FL, but had lived in Spartanburg most of her life. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 15 years, Steve Collins; daughters, Brantley Collins and Reagan Collins; step-father, Perry Jones; two brothers, Scott Brantley (Lynn) of Nashville, TN, and Mark Brantley (Mariel) of Marietta, SC; step-brother, Timothy Jones (Lisa) of Ellenboro, NC; step-sister, Ann Caldwell (Bruce) of Forest City, NC; and three nieces. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 20, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307, with the Rev. Dr. Bruce R. Caldwell, the Rev. Perry Jones, and the Rev. Arthur Holt officiating. Visitation will follow at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 107 West Park Boulevard Suite 150, Columbia, SC 29210; or Cherokee Springs United Methodist Church Building Fund, 110 Fairway Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
