Barbara Carver

Barbara Sawyer Carver, 78, of Spartanburg, died Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at Village Hospital in Greer. Born October 1, 1933, in Drayton, SC, she was the widow of James D. "Jimmy" Carver and daughter of the late Boyce Austin Groce and Jamie Irene Sawyer Corne. Mrs. Carver was very active and a charter member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She was formerly employed at Valley Falls Terrace as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Surviving are her daughters, Sandra Garren and husband Mike of Virginia Beach, VA, Debby Allen, Lori Willis and husband T. J., and Teresa Bishop, all of Spartanburg, SC; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Brenda Watkins, Carolyn Petroskie, and Judy Holden. Visitation will be 12:00-1:45 PM Saturday, September 29, 2012, at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, at the church, conducted by Pastor Frankie Taylor. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. The family is at the home of her grandson, Jamie and Cindy Allen.
