Barbara Justice Bogan, 82, was born February 8, 1934 in Spartanburg, SC, to the late Wilburn Phillip and Una May Abbott Justice. She passed away on June 4, 2016 at Mary Black Hospital. She was married to the love of her life, Lorantz Bogan, for 62 years. Barbara was a 1952 graduate of Fairforest High School and completed an Associate Degree from Spartanburg Methodist College. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher and children's choir leader. She was a member of the adult choir, Sunday School, Young at Heart and Yesterday's Teens. Barbara devoted her life to caring for her family. She unfailingly supported and encouraged her husband and children and had a gift for hospitality that extended to countless friends and family members. She mothered many nieces and nephews and leaves a legacy of love that will continue to bless those who knew her. Barbara is survived by her children and their spouses: Allen Bogan (Ann) Donna Cook (Robert), Lori Ford (Jason) and Byron Bogan (Wendy); ten grandchildren: Matt Bogan (Katie); Kyle Bogan (Kristina); April Camp (Josh); Katie Grimsley (Shane); Emily Schultz (Randall); Josette and Wesley Ford; Luke and Hannah Bogan, and Courtney Bailey; seventeen great-grandchildren: Mary Mattison, Willard, Allen, Skylar, Ryleigh and Brookston Bogan; Jack, Clare, Sam, Ben, and Luke Camp; Eli and Nate Grimsley; Oliver and Ellie Schultz; Haddie Bogan and Aiden Bailey. Barbara is also survived by four siblings: Carolyn Wright, Helen Steele, Beverly Hicks, and Royce Justice; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Barbara Elizabeth and her siblings, Margaret Rucker, Mary Cribb, Warren Justice, Jeanette Wyatt, Christine Hope, and Eleanor Justice. Visitation will be 12:00 - 1:45 PM, Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Spartanburg First Baptist Church, 250 E. Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306. The funeral service will be 2:00 PM at the church, conducted by the Rev. Sal Barone and the Rev. Bob Morgan. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
