Barbara Blanton

Barbara D. Blanton, 77, died Sunday, September 25, 2011, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born June 26, 1934, in Winnsboro, SC, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Morgan Daniel and Lucie Beckham Daniel. A lifelong resident of Spartanburg, she attended Cedar Springs School for the Deaf and Blind and was a member of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg. Survivors include a daughter, Debra Blanton and partner Kimberly of Spartanburg; a son, David Blanton and wife Mary of Boiling Springs, SC; a sister, Carole Patterson and husband Jack of Fort Mill, SC; a brother, Michael Daniel and wife Donna of Columbus, NC; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five nieces; one nephew; seven great-nephews; and two great-nieces. Visitation will be 3:00-3:45 PM on Tuesday, September 27, 2011, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 4:15 PM in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by Chaplain Jerry Armstrong. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her honor to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303; or to a charity of one's choice.
