Austin Shoneke

Austin Dean "Skipper" Shoneke, 76, a native of Cowpens, SC, died Monday, September 21, 2015, at his home. Born July 11, 1939, in Cowpens, SC, he was the son of the late Milton Charles and Maudine Martin Shoneke. Mr. Shoneke was a member of First Baptist Church in Cowpens. He received his BA Degree from Wofford College. He taught mathematics and science at Cowpens High School and Broome High School. He is survived by his sister, Gwen Shoneke of Spartanburg, SC. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his grandparents, George Dean and Maude Moseley Martin. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 23, 2015, at Daniel Morgan Memorial Gardens, 175 Cemetery St., Cowpens, SC 29330, by the Rev. Jack Caldwell and the Rev. Ronell Owensby. Visitation will follow at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
