Aurelia Roper passed away peacefully after a year of declining health on October 5. Born Ruth Aurelia Burns to Hollis and Mary (Bowling) Burns on July 22, 1937. She is survived by her son and his wife Chuck and Pat Robbins and their children, Kyle Robbins, Suzanne (Ryan) Camp, and Thomas (Rhendi) Bird. She was the widow of Brock Roper and together they raised two grandchildren in their home Stephanie Roper and Kcee Roper. She is also survived by her loving fur baby, Annabel. As an only child growing up, she had many cousins but was especially close to the girl cousins whom she loved dearly and enjoyed talking with and visiting with at any given chance.
Aurelia was a dedicated Gamecock sport fan. Before Brock’s death they traveled for several years all over the country following the Gamecock football team with the friends on the bus trips. In earlier days she and Brock enjoyed ballroom dancing. Aurelia was a retired elementary school teacher serving in schools in Spartanburg District 6. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of the Covenant. The family would like to thank the staff of Lake Emory Acute Care for her care the last six months.
