Augustus "Gus" George Camp, beloved husband and father, passed away on December 11, 2023, at the age of 80. Gus was born, in Greenwood, South Carolina and was the son of parents, Clinton Camp and Emily Mims Camp.
Gus served his country with honor and dedication. He spent four years in the United States Navy serving aboard the USS Power.
On December 14, 2023, family and friends will gather to pay their respects to Gus at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, South Carolina, 29307. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM, followed by a Memorial Service at 12:00 PM. Rev. Dr, Todd Lowe will officiate the service.
Gus is survived by his wife of 58 years, DeLane Fleeman Camp; his son, Scott Camp; his daughter, Lee C. Rawls and her husband, Michael; two grandsons, Brandon Rawls and his wife, Adele, as well as Shane Rawls and his wife, Torie; his brother, Bill Camp and his wife, Mary. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Sandra Camp.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Gus's memory to the Spartanburg Humane Society, https://spartanburghumane.org/ or to Spartanburg Regional Hospice House, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
