Audrey Scales

Audrey Wenona Thomas Scales, 93, of Cowpens, SC, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born August 26, 1921, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late John Henry Thomas and Fannie Hembree Thomas, and widow of Francis Marion Scales. She was predeceased by seven sisters and was the last remaining member of her immediate family. Mrs. Scales was a longtime member of Bethany Baptist Church in Spartanburg and retired from Sky City of Spartanburg. Her love for the Lord, and her family, was immense. Although she had no children of her own, she made all her nieces and nephews feel loved and appreciated. She truly was a blessing to everyone who knew her. A graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 AM Thursday, June 25, 2015, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. Norman Philbeck. Visitation will follow at the graveside. The family is at the home of her niece, Kim Millard of Cowpens.
