Arthur Lindsay

Arthur Chester Lindsay, 94, of Beaumont, died Saturday, September 3, 2011 at Mary Black Memorial Hospital. Born October 5, 1916 in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Jacob Christopher and Eliza Jane Harvey Lindsay and husband of the late Mattie Geneva Cudd Lindsay. Arthur was as a 48-year card room employee of Beaumont Mill. He was the oldest member of Beaumont Baptist church and a former volunteer with Mobile Meals Service. Survivors include two sons, Dean Lindsay and wife Dean of Cowpens and Paul Lindsay and wife Geraldine of Boiling Springs; a daughter, Shirleen "Shirley" Price and husband Jim of Roebuck; eight grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family having been predeceased by four brothers and two sisters. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, September 4, 2011 at Sunset Memorial Park, conducted by the Rev. Steven McClain and the Rev. Ruppert Guest. Visitation will follow the service at the graveside.
