Anthony Caruso

Anthony "Tony" Caruso, 89, of Roebuck, SC, died Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born July 18, 1925, in Astoria, NY, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Josephine Cannizzaro Caruso. A World War II veteran of the U. S. Navy, Mr. Caruso retired from Spartan Mills after many years of service. After he retired from Spartan Mills, Tony and Raymond opened Caruso Fabrics Inc. (Textile Brokerage) in 1983. Tony retired in 1995. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Surviving are his beloved wife of 65 years, Hedvine Schuhlein Caruso; children, Linda Harris (John) of Roebuck, SC, Anthony Caruso, Jr. (Mary Jane) of York, SC, Philip Caruso (Pam), Raymond Caruso (Teresa), and Paul Caruso (Cindy), all of Roebuck, SC; he was blessed with nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Tina Weiss. The family will receive friends 4:00-7:00 PM Friday, May 29, 2015, at the home at 650 Independence Drive, Roebuck, SC.
