Annie Worthy

Annie Lou Coggins Worthy, 83, of Moore, SC passed away November 16, 2022, at her home. Born January 21, 1939, in Spartanburg, SC to the late George Cannady and Sophie Ida Bishop Coggins, she was the wife of the late Ernest Gemerial Worthy.

A strong Christian woman, Annie was known for her kindness and compassion. She enjoyed spending time outside, tending her garden, and growing beautiful flowers. Annie truly loved her family, especially spending time with them and traveling with them to the beach and the mountains.

Survivors include her sons, Steve Worthy (Kathy) of Chesnee and Richard Worthy (Paula) of Inman; daughter, Julie Worthy of Duncan; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and sister, Margie Willingham of Mayo. Along with her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a brother, James Coggins.

Visitation will be 1:15 – 2:15 PM on Sunday, November 20, 2022, at Roebuck Baptist Church, 1979 East Blackstock Road, Roebuck, SC 29376. The funeral service will follow at 2:30 PM in the church, conducted by the Rev. Tim Williams. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
