Annie Laura H. Williams, daughter of the late Robert A. Harbison, Sr. and Annie McGimsey Harbison, was a native of Spartanburg and the widow of Edward Quinton Williams, Sr. She was a graduate of Lander College and received her Master's degree from the University of South Carolina-Spartanburg. She was former owner and teacher of the Park Hills Private Kindergarten, a member of the Spartanburg Association of Kindergarten Teachers, S.C. Association Children Under Six, Southern Association Children Under Six, and Spartanburg Kindergarten Association. She was later employed by the Spartanburg County Public Library as the Early Childhood Specialist on the Story Caravan. Mrs. Williams was a lifelong member of Central United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Garrett Bible Class, Miriam-Ruth Circle, the United Methodist Women, and the Centralites. She was also a volunteer for the Mental Health Department, working with the Aftercare program. Survivors include sons, Donald E. Williams of Chapin, SC and Edward Q. Williams, Jr. of Spartanburg; a daughter, Diane W. Woodrum of Irmo, SC; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Vera H. Hammett, and brothers, Robert A. Harbison, Jr. and Oliver Harbison. Visitation will be 11:00-11:45 AM Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 noon in the chapel, conducted by the Rev. Alex Stevenson. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
