Annie Owens

Annie Ruth Knighton Owens, 89, of Spartanburg, died Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at her home. Born April 18, 1922, in Woodruff, SC, she was the daughter of the late James Lee and Bessie Sexton Knighton, and wife of the late Frank William Owens. She was a member of Golightly United Methodist Church. Survivors include her son, Frank Wayne (Nancy) Owens of Spartanburg; grandchildren, Rev. Kenneth Dwayne (Kathy) Owens and Denise Worley; six great-grandchildren, April (Todd) Morris, Matthew (Elyshia) White, Katie White, Megan Owens, Danielle Spakes, and Jodi Spakes; and two great-great-grandchildren, Natalie and Caleb Morris. She was predeceased by her sons, Marvin Lee and Kenneth Larry Owens; and brothers, Marshall Edward and James William Knighton. Visitation will be 10:00-10:45 AM Saturday, February 4, 2012, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM, in the Chapel, conducted by her grandson, the Rev. Kenneth D. Owens. Burial will be in Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery. A thank you is extended to Sandra Bostwick, her Stephen Ministry for many years.
