Anne Sanders Wilson

Anne Sanders Wilson, 92, of Moore, died Monday, January 13, 2025, at White Oak at North Grove. A native of McCormick, SC, she was born on November 16, 1932, a daughter of the late Harvey G. Sanders, Sr. and Sue Lee Keown Sanders and the wife of the late Roy Steele Wilson.

Anne graduated from McCormick High School and then attended Furman University. She subsequently returned to school and graduated from Limestone College and obtained her master’s degree in teaching at Converse College. After serving as a homemaker for many years, she began a career as a teacher in the Spartanburg County School District, teaching at Lone Oak Elementary School and Jesse Bobo Elementary School. She retired after more than 20 years of service.

She was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Spartanburg and enjoyed gardening and her pet dogs and cats.

She is survived by a son, Stephen (Janice) Sanders Wilson; daughter, Lisa Anne Wilson; grandchildren, Daniel (Erin) Scott Wilson, Katherine (Chris) Wilson Gentile, Jordan Southers Wilson, Lauren Elizabeth Wilson; great grandchildren, Hank Wilson, Meredith Gentile and Knox Gentile; daughter in law, Jane Sarratt Wilson. She was predeceased by a son, Daniel (Danny) Steele Wilson.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am in the chapel, conducted by the Rev. Harvey Gibert Sanders, III. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

Memorials may be made to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605 or to a charity of one’s choice. The family is at their respective homes.
