Anne Bruce Cartwright Van Vleet, 87, of Spartanburg, died Monday, February 15, 2010, at Summit Hills. Born April 28, 1922, in Chattanooga, TN, she was the daughter of the late Bruce Green and Ruby Hickey Cartwright. A graduate of City High School in Chattanooga, TN, and Ohio State University, she served as church secretary for churches in Savannah, GA, and Springfield, MA, and was the co-owner of Snelling and Snelling Personnel Services in Sunnyvale, CA. She was of the Southern Baptist faith, active with church youth programs, a member of Business Professional Women's Association (BPWA), and served on her high school reunion committee. Survivors include her husband, Homer Van Vleet, Jr., LTC USAF Ret.; a son, Richard B. (Donna) Van Vleet of Chesnee; two grandsons, Richard B. (Tami) Van Vleet, Jr. and Ryan H. (Katherine) Van Vleet, all of Spartanburg; and six great-grandchildren, Zack, Zoe, Zayden, Zane, Harrison, and Thomas. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 18, 2010, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 19, 2010, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel conducted by the Rev. Robert C. Monson. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
