Anne Greene

Elizabeth "Anne" Thomas Greene, 88, of Spartanburg, SC died Thursday, February 11, 2021 at White Oak of North Grove. She was born in Knoxville, TN on August 8, 1932, and was the daughter of the late Roy Cecil Thomas and Minnie Cleo Romines Thomas. She was predeceased in death by her husband of 50 years, Edward E. Greene, and son, Randall T. Greene. She attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN and graduated from Converse College in Spartanburg, SC with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts degree. Mrs. Greene was a member of Fernwood Baptist Church in Spartanburg. She worked for many years as the Director of the Art School of the Spartanburg Art Association; she enjoyed art and travel. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. Mrs. Greene is survived by a son, Steve Greene and wife Diane of Seneca, SC; eight grandchildren, Brandon Greene of Spartanburg, Justin Greene and wife Kaley of Spartanburg, Jessica Scardina and husband Todd of Denver, CO, Ryan Garcia and husband Rob of Anaheim, CA, Mark Miller and husband Doug Whitinger of Indianapolis, IN, Billy Miller and wife Connie of Vero Beach, FL, Tori Neet of North Augusta, SC, and Stephen Havko and wife Caitlin of Charlotte, NC; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, and two Godchildren, Clay Gilbert and Richard Heatly. The family recognizes and thanks her faithful "daughter" Lynne Burton and husband Bill, and special friend and caregiver, Robbie Burnside. Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC conducted by The Rev. Matthew Johnson. Visitation will be at the graveside.
