Anne Anthony

Anne Peirce Anthony (Toni), 90, of Spartanburg, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 25, 2011 at White Oak Estates. Born November 15, 1921 in New Bedford, MA, she was the daughter of the late Edmund and Anna Elizabeth Wideberg Anthony. Miss Anthony graduated from House In The Pines, Norton, MA, attended Middlebury College, Middlebury, VT, and Bryant & Stratton Secretarial School, Boston, MA. She served in the U. S. Navy WAVES during WWII. Miss Anthony was a secretary for New England Life in Boston, MA and Washington, DC before moving to Spartanburg where she was a secretary with Milliken & Company, Drayton Plant. She was a member and faithfully served as secretary for 22 years at First Baptist Church of Spartanburg, and a member of Yesterdays Teens, and the WMU. Surviving is a sister, Elizabeth A. Robbins of Sun City Center, FL; seven nephews and one niece; and several great-nephews & nieces. She was predeceased by a sister Ruth A. LeBlanc Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 PM Monday, November 28, 2011 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on Tuesday, November 29, 2011, in the Sanctuary of the First Baptist Church of Spartanburg, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Donald J. Wilton. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Spartanburg, 250 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306.
