Ann Zampell

Ann Marie “Annie” Zampell, 61, passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2021 with her son David by her side. Born in Boston, MA on December 30, 1959, she was the daughter of the late Grace Merrick and Darvie Pugh.

Annie was born and raised in Charlestown, MA and moved to Pacolet SC with her family at age 15 where she lived for most of her life. She was an avid reader, and had quite the imagination. Annie could be hysterically funny at times and had an enormous lexicon. It made her feel good to go out to breakfast with her son and look around for a poor soul to buy breakfast for too. She lived and loved all things country and will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her son, David James Zampell of Cowpens, SC, and four sisters, Pat Newcomb of Colebrook NH, Maureen Kelso of Saugus MA, Rita Sullivan of Torrance CA and Grace Walsh of Hull MA, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, LCpl David James Pugh.

There are no services at this time, a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
