Ann Ledbetter, 62, of 748 River Road, Columbia, died Monday, August 8, 2011, at her home. Born August 22, 1948, in Boston, MA, she was the daughter of the late James P. Ledbetter, Jr. and Eleanor Travers Jones Ledbetter. Ann was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Irmo, SC, and past Assistant Director of Rural Mission on John's Island, SC. She was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and attended Boston University and Presbyterian College. Survivors include her brother, William J. "Bill" Ledbetter and wife Elizabeth of Spartanburg; her sister, Jane East and husband Billy of Columbia; nieces and nephews, Joe Ledbetter, John David Ledbetter, Luke Ledbetter, Jay Ledbetter, Paul Elias, Lynn Elias, and Greg Elias; and her dog "Lucy". A graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, August 11, 2011, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Spartanburg, conducted by the Rev. Steve Wise. A memorial service will follow at 11:30 AM at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 309 Fernwood Drive, Spartanburg, SC. Visitation will follow in the church Parlor. Pallbearers are her nephews, Paul Elias, Greg Elias, Jay Ledbetter, John David Ledbetter, Joe Ledbetter, Luke Ledbetter, Paul W. Elias, Zach Elias, Ian Ledbetter, and Landen Elias. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29615. The family appreciates all those who gave loving care and kindness to Ann during her illness, especially Lisa Younger; Lexington Oncology; and Jackie Molchan, Ann Robinson, and Lura Williams of Hospice Care of Tri-County.
