Ann Fain

February 3, 1942 — October 26, 2015

Ann Parker Wells Fain, 73, of Spartanburg, SC, died Monday, October 26, 2015, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born February 3, 1942, in Asheville, NC, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Doyle Wells and Beverly Louise Brown Wells. Mrs. Fain retired after 27 years of service as a Kindergarten teacher at The Spartanburg Day School. She was a member of St. Christopher's Episcopal Church where she served as a former Vestry and Altar Guild member, as well as a member of the Daughters of the King, and many other committees, a volunteer at The Haven, St. Luke's Medical Clinic, a master gardener and former president of her Garden Club. Ann would like to let you know that her work here is done. She received a call, the sort of offer you just can't refuse. It comes with a reunion with her son Kevin, her parents, and friends she has not seen in a long time. She is in heaven, a wonderful place where she will be baking, gardening, reading, playing the piano and sharing stories of her children and grandchildren to her hearts content. Music, laughter, and love are guaranteed. We want to let her know that she was amazing. We will remember her smile, her warmth, her energy, her love for life, family, and friends. She helped others until the very end and made a difference in the lives of everyone she touched. She was a golden ray of sunshine. We invite you to join Max N. Fain her husband of 52 years, her daughter, Beth Affolter (Lu); son, Max T. Fain (Monica); grandchildren, Shawn, Alec, and Brian Affolter, Tinsley, Parker, and Peyton Fain; and her sister, Pam Oliver to celebrate her life at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 30, 2015, at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, conducted by the Rev. Jim Trimble. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, 400 Dupre Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29307; or St. Luke's Free Medical Clinic, PO Box 3466, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
