Ann Allen

Ann Powell Allen, 82, of Spartanburg, SC, died Monday, October 9, 2017, at her home. Born November 15, 1934, in Polk County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Odessa Skipper Powell. Mrs. Allen was a member of First Baptist Church Spartanburg and retired owner of Ann's Beauty Shop after 25 years of service to the community. Survivors include her husband of over 60 years, Ralph D. Allen; son, Rodney Allen (Lisa) of Winston-Salem, NC; grandchildren, Ryan Allen (Amber) of Winston-Salem, NC and Dr. Ashley Fleshman (Greg) of Jackson Hole, WY; four great-grandchildren, Cadence, Emily, Noah, and Rockwell; and sisters, Merlene Page (William) of Green Creek, NC and Janice Stone of Roebuck, SC. Visitation will be 1:30-2:45 PM Sunday, October 15, 2017, at First Baptist Church Spartanburg, 250 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29306. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM, at the church, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Donald J. Wilton. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mobile Meals Service, PO Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304. The family is at the home of Ralph Allen.
