Angela Willes

Angela Willes, 85, died Monday, July 11, 2022, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.  Born April 8, 1937, in Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire, England, she was a daughter of the late George Arthur and Edith Josephine Strong Willes.

Ms. Willes was retired from Milliken and Company after 39 years, where she served as an Audio-Visual Technician, and later a Sales Training facilitator.  She was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Spartanburg where she was an integral member of the UUCS Pastoral Care Associates. She also served on the card team and was a longtime member of the Second Tuesday Covenant Group and Interweave, an early gay-straight alliance social group.

Angela always had a smile ready for everyone. She loved people and all animals and was an avid gardener.

Survivors include her twin sister, Pamela Copeland of Spartanburg, SC and her brother, John Willes of Charlotte, NC, seven nieces and nephews, and ten great nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Angela’s life will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, August 27, 2022, at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Spartanburg, 210 Henry Place, Spartanburg, SC, 29306.
