Amy Michelle Steading Simmons, 41, of Belton, SC, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home after a long and courageous fight with melanoma. Amy was born on March 16, 1976, in Charlotte, NC, to Michael and Sheran Steading of Moore, SC. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Roger Simmons of Belton, SC, and their son Matthew of the home. She is also survived by her brother, Patrick Steading (Alaina) of Moore, SC, her nephews, Liam Steading, Michael Steading and treasured uncles and aunts, Dale Steading (Joyce), Steve Steading (Elaine) and David Steading (Tammy). Amy was a graduate of Dorman High School and Anderson University. She taught English at Westside High School in Anderson District Five. She loved teaching, her students and her Westside family. She was a member of Connection Fellowship in Powdersville, SC. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday, March 18, 2018, at Powdersville First Baptist Church, 4212 SC-153, Easley, SC 29642. A reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303; or Connection Fellowship, 109 Leader Drive, Powdersville, SC 29673. The family would especially like to thank the oncology team at Gibbs Cancer Center and the staff at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home for their loving care of Amy.
