Alvin Mansel Hyatt, 75, of Spartanburg, SC, died Wednesday, September 28, 2016, at his home. Born September 12, 1941, in Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late Jesse Boyd Hyatt and Lottie Floyd Hyatt. A U. S. Army veteran, Mr. Hyatt was a retired construction worker. Survivors include his nephews and niece, Joe Hyatt, Jr. (Nancy) of Cowpens, SC, Jason Hyatt (Kari) of DeLand, FL, Ann Hyatt Thompson (Keith) of Cowpens, SC, and Tom Hyatt (Jackie) of DeLand, FL; three great-nieces; and one great-great-niece. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Joe Hyatt, Sr. and Larry Hyatt. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday, October 3, 2016, in Walnut Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, 1335 Walnut Grove Rd., Roebuck, SC 29376, by the Rev. Joe Blackwelder. Visitation will follow at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Home Care & Hospice, PO Box 430, Drayton, SC 29333. The family is at the home of his nephew, Joe Hyatt, Jr., 1314 Bud Arthur Bridge Rd., Cowpens, SC 29330.
